Description
YN 20750 PROJECT ORION is a new 49.8m (163’4”) Silent Cruising Luxury Tri-Deck Aluminium Motor Yacht due for completion in 2025 by renowned Dutch shipyard HEESEN YACHTS.
THE SOUND OF SILENCE
Project Orion is the third in our advanced 50-metre FDHF aluminium series with hybrid propulsion. The hybrid installation will deliver a silent cruising capability and flexible power management for maximum energy efficiency. Lightweight aluminium, precision-welded to the highest tolerances with meticulous weight control by our in-house team, combined with an ultra-efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form devised by van Oossanen, allows a compact machinery package to provide optimum propulsion efficiency throughout the speed range. Two MTU 12V 2000 M61 (IMO III) of just 600kW each will deliver a top speed of 16.3 knots, while at 12 knots Orion will consume just 98 litres per hour, excluding hotel load. At ten knots in hybrid mode, fuel consumption falls to just 45 litres per hour. These are truly outstanding figures for a luxurious 50-metre yacht displacing 295 tons.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Frank Laupman of Omega Architects penned the perfect image for this ultra-technological yacht. This series boasts a striking profile with a near-vertical bow and large floor-to-ceiling windows. The vertical bow with spray rails is not only on-trend, it also serves a practical purpose by providing progressive buoyancy when carving through waves.
STEP ABOARD
Italian designer Cristiano Gatto has created a unique contemporary interior design, making the most out of bright internal spaces, floodlit with natural light, that offer sweeping views of the surrounding seascape thanks to open bulwarks. The six-stateroom layout, with the master on the main deck forward, a full beam VIP, and two double and two twin staterooms on the lower deck, make this yacht ideal for both private and charter use.
