Description
STARLIGHT is a gorgeous yacht in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. She provides a versatile platform for family enjoyment, entertaining, or serious long-range cruising. This classic motor yacht combines the heritage of a design from the legendary C. Raymond Hunt with custom hand-built construction and exacting specifications. She was designed to be able to sprint at high speed (23 knots), yet also provide economical slower speed (12-16 knots) extended range voyaging. Her current owner has cruised STARLIGHT regularly between Maine and the Bahamas, and she has proven herself both elegant and reliable. She is extremely comfortable for a family to live aboard for extended trips, or to entertain in classic style. Her walk-around decks, unobstructed views, all-weather main deck aft lounge, spectacular flybridge, and lovely Awlgrip dark green hull make her truly one of a kind.
STARLIGHT was launched in 2003. Her Deep-V hull design came from the firm of the legendary C. Raymond Hunt, one of the most famous and innovative of all classic yacht designers. The hull was built by the team at Goetz Custom Technologies using the latest in composite construction technology developed by Eric Goetz for several America’s Cup boats of similar vintage to deliver a combination of high strength and low weight, allowing STARLIGHT to deliver high speed or low fuel consumption and extended range. The yacht’s systems were installed at Derecktor Shipyard to the highest specifications. Final integration and the rich wood interior were completed at Palmer-Johnson. STARLIGHT has had only two owners, both of whom were highly experienced yachtsmen.
STARLIGHT’s layout includes 3 staterooms with ensuite baths, sleeping 6 guests in a spacious format that provides the feel of a much larger yacht. The impressive interior has gorgeous raised-panel mahogany throughout, as well as lovely baths with granite counters and many custom features. STARLIGHT’s exterior is highlighted by a spacious flybridge with a hardtop and a full outdoor kitchen/dining area as well as an outdoor deck for watching sunsets or taking in – starlight! STARLIGHT is a manageable size – big enough to go anywhere offshore, but small enough to be easily operated with a Captain and 1-2 crew. She is optimized for family use and enjoyment without the burdens of a large crew. STARLIGHT has been chartered very sparingly.
Extensive storage and fuel capacity give STARLIGHT the capability for weeks of independent cruising in either northern or southern climates.
