PRINCE OF ATHENS is a 25m (82’) Modern Classic Sail Yacht launched in 1967 by Dutch shipyard Akerrboom Jahtwerf and refitted in 2008. PRINCE OF ATHENS is available for charter to cruise in the crystal clear waters of the eastern Mediterranean taking in the rich beauty of Turkey and Greece, dining in historic ports, exploring secluded bays & lagoons with emerald water, or taking in the vibrant nightlife on any of the many famous Greek islands. Pricing is from € 25,200 per week with accommodation for up to 6 guests (and 3 crew).

Prince of Athens was built originally in 1967 In Holland and fully rebuilt in 2007 in Greek shipyards with high attention to details she combines the brilliance of her kind with the comforts of a modern yacht.

Prince is a unique 25-meter long motor sailer and hosts up to 45 persons on board.

It features three cabins, two with a queen-size bed and one with berths, all with their own private marble bathroom and shower. 6 persons can be accommodated with royal treatment.

In-room amenities include a living room and a dining area with kitchen facilities for private cooking.

Outdoor spaces are key to life on board. The large open-air deck, made of the highest quality teak wood, is ideal for relaxing in one of the sunbeds and preparing the body & soul for a dip in the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea.

THE STORY

Built-in New York by Adam and Noah Brown in a typical body plan of the American Privateers, she was one of the fastest ships of the United States army in the war of 1812.

In 1814, she was chased 17 times by British men-of-war and she outran them every time.

After a triumphant victory against the British navy, she returned to Boston and when she sailed again in December of 1814, she was fully crewed with 120 men under Nicolas Millin, she was chased through a severe gale by three British frigates. The Prince (Neufchatel) lost the spars in the chase and so was taken.

Sir George Collier was so impressed with her sailing speed (13 knots), she sent her to England where she was measured for copying.
