Description
Built in the Netherland in 2003 at the Kuipers yard, Maverick is one of the celebrated Doggersbank vessels. An intelligently built explorer yacht, she has proved her credentials by completing numerous expeditions in testing conditions.
Designed by Vripack, her exterior lines are graceful but she is also rugged and capable of cruising virtually anywhere in the world. Her steel hull and explorer credentials mean she can handle a range of ocean conditions, with a proven track record of excellent handling and safety even in testing weather, easily handling wind speeds of 100 knots and waves of up to 25’ on some expeditions. She has been maintained in excellent condition thanks to a detailed maintenance plan, meticulously followed by her owner and experienced crew.
There is nothing rough and rugged about her interiors. Her luxurious, comfortable design that includes an impressive spiral staircase make her a rival to any luxury yacht cruising the world. The main saloon has beautiful finishes with generous seating aft and a fixed dining table for six located forward. Cherry wood interiors are beautifully offset by bright artwork hung in the cabins and living areas. The three guest cabins include a master and two twins, all featuring an entertainment system and ensuites with marble finishes. She also has crew quarters for three, and a galley with space for casual dining.
Maverick’s outdoor spaces are versatile and can be used in all weathers – the naturally shaded aft deck has additional vinyl and canvas that can be used to provide a shelter from the elements, creating a social area complete with inbuilt seating, table and wet bar. The large upper deck is an essential space for viewing the stunning scenery that this expedition yacht will no doubt encounter, and a swim platform gives access to the ocean when cruising warmer areas.
The fuel consumption of her twin 385hp Caterpillar engines is incredibly low, designed to allow long ocean journeys. She has an impressive range of 6000 nautical miles when travelling at a cruising speed of 9 knots, giving her highly sought after transatlantic capabilities. Currently in New Zealand, she is the perfect vessel to explore this unspoilt country’s fjords and beaches, but her long range could also see her traveling to the South Pacific and far beyond.
Maverick offers safe but intrepid cruising in luxurious surroundings, a truly unique vessel for an owner seeking more adventure from their superyacht.
