Description
ALBATROSS is a 72.2m (236.9ft) motor yacht with a beam of 13m (42.7ft) and significant internal volume of 2,066GT. Her steel hull and composite superstructure of steel, aluminium and GRP, were constructed to Lloyd’s classification and delivered by American shipyard Delta Marine in 2016 with exterior design by Espen Oeino and interiors by Zuretti that celebrate natural materials.
With a touch-and-go helipad, an unusually extensive range of 7,400nm and the capability to carry five tenders of up to 8.5m (28ft), this is a yacht that can open up the world for her next owner. Well maintained and very lightly used, she presents beautifully.
An elevator serves all guest decks including the sun deck, which has open-air dining aft, walkaround sidedecks and a sun lounge forward. The helipad is on the bridge deck aft and this versatile space also serves as a boat deck on passage with deck cranes for launch and recovery and a very large sun lounge. There is a lounge area for informal open-air dining, a chef station with BBQ and oven, and a raised eight-person jacuzzi. The bridge deck aft is overlooked by a fully equipped gym with dayhead, shower and changing room. Forward there is a Portuguese bridge lounge.
The upper deck is dedicated to the owner’s exclusive use. A substantial owner’s bedroom with full-height windows is aft facing with vanity table and lounge seating, his-and-hers bathrooms with shower and bath respectively, and a shared walk-in wardrobe. A spacious private terrace has a raised jacuzzi aft, daybed, lounge seating, bulkhead TV and an intimate open-air dining table. Forward of the owner’s entrance and lobby is the owner’s observation lounge, with wraparound views and full-height windows, a VIP suite and outside is another lounge terrace.
The main deck is a significant entertaining space. On an expansive aft deck there is open-air dining, a sit-up bar and a sun lounge. Steps either side lead to a huge swim platform equipped with two bait boxes for sport fishing. Inside there is parquet flooring and picture windows throughout. The main saloon features opposing U-shaped lounges and there are two large TVs on the forward bulkhead. An ante room with inlaid marquetry compass rose leads through to a formal dining room for up to 16 dining guests. Glass sliding doors can seal off the main saloon from the dining room, so it can double as a boardroom.
She welcomes 12 guests in six suites, two on the owner’s deck and four on the main deck, where there is also a guest lounge, and there is also accommodation for four staff and 18 crew on the lower deck.
Twin Caterpillar 2,575hp diesel engines give her a top speed of 16 knots and the extraordinary range mentioned above. The full-beam lower deck tender garage has shell doors either side and the teak-decked space serves as a beach club with bar, dayhead and TV once tenders and toys are launched.
